Do you sometimes wonder with everything online these days, why you can't lodge your Business BAS online?

For those businesses preparing and lodging your own BAS (or if your book-keeper lodges it), there is a really handy online service with the ATO.

And the best part of lodging online? If you are on a quarterly BAS cycle, you will automatically get a two week extension for lodging and paying your BAS.

Here is how business owners will benefit from using the online service:

1. Lodge and view activity statements online (saves paper)

2. View your activity statement account information (for example, what is your current business BAS debt, or did that last BAS payment go through ok?)

3. Lodge PAYG Payment Summary Annual Reports

Once you start to lodge online, the ATO will no longer post manual BAS statements to you. You will receive an email notification that your activity statement is available to complete online.
